Appeal Letter: Prioritizing Child Combatants in Peace Talks

The LTTE has consistently violated it's commitments to the United Nations and international human rights groups and has continued to recruit child soldiers among its ranks. Even today as the rebel group is negotiating with the government, it recruits children to fill it's ranks. The government has said that it will take up this issue "among other matters". However, this is not enough if the government is truly committed to ending the use of child combatants within the country.
