Nepal: Child Rights Watch group- Nepal [New Organization]

Six NGOs working in the field of child welfare and children's rights within Nepal, Maiti Nepal, Underprivileged Children Educational Programme (UCEP-Nepal), Nepal Children’s Organisation, Paropakar and Sahara Group, have gotten together to form a new platform for children's voices called the Child Rights Watch Group- Nepal (CRWGN).
Apart from lobbying more effectively for children's rights legislation, the group aims at pooling in their resources and improving the service delivery systems in conflict-affected regions in Nepal. Nepal is plagued with the growing prevalence of Maoist insurgency group, Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), which has also been known to abduct and recruit children as combatants.
The group is also lobbying to set up peace zones for children in conflict-affected regions of Nepal where education, health, food, shelter and other basic necessities of children will not be disturbed due to the war.
