COMMITTEE ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD: Discussion Day 2004: "Implementing Child Rights in Early Childhood" [event]

Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Date: 17 September 2004

The UN General Assembly 2002 Special Session on Children adopted a Plan of Action
that committed Member States to the "Development and implementation of national
early childhood development policies and programmes to ensure the enhancement of
children's physical, social, emotional, spiritual and cognitive development". The
Committee decided at its 33rd session to devote its 2004 day of general discussion
to "Implementing Child Rights in Early Childhood" in order to broaden understanding
and raise awareness about the rights of the young children.

The deadline for the submission of written contributions is 26 July 2004. The
deadline for registration is 1 September 2004, although participants are encouraged
to register as early as possible in order to ensure a place and to be able to
receive copies of written submissions via email. [Source: CRIN]
