Philippines: 70 children rescued in Philippines' anti-porn raid [News]

More than 70 children, aged between seven and 16, were rescued in the Philippines during a raid conducted on a pornographic video production centre, Xinhua reports.

According to ABS-CBN news channel, the raid was conducted in the northern resort of Laguna province after the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was tipped off by Dutch national Christian Kerremans of SOS Child Care Foundation about a group that allegedly engaged children in pornography.

Kerremans told NBI he had information on how children were being offered to foreigners for prostitution or for video pornography, the report said.

The victims were brought to centres run by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Seven suspected pornographic producers and cameramen were arrested in the raid, the report said. [Source: Hindustan Times]
