COMMITTEE ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD: Implementing Child Rights in Early Childhood

Location: Geneva, Switzerland

As noted earlier, the Committee on the Rights of the Child will be holding its day
of general discussion on "Implementing Child Rights in Early Childhood". The aim of
this day is to raise awareness and understanding about the rights of the youngest
children and explore how those are defined and protected by the Convention on the
Rights of the Child. Another objective is to facilitate the exchange of information
and experiences in order to assist the Committee in addressing the rights of the
youngest children during the examination of State Party reports.

In order to participate in the meeting, you must register before 1 September 2004.
This also applies to those holding UN security passes. If you wish to receive copies
of background papers via e-mail, please register prior to 2 August 2004. Please note
