CHILD SOLDIERS: International Launch of the 2004 Global Report [report launch]

First published in 2001, the Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers' Global
Report is the only publication of its kind, and today continues to be the leading
report monitoring the recruitment and use of children as soldiers worldwide, as well
as their demobilisation and reintegration.

The Global Report is a critical tool for monitoring compliance by governments and
armed political groups to international standards governing the recruitment and use
of child soldiers. It provides detailed, country-by-country analysis of recruitment
standards and practices in more than 180 countries, and helps to identify regional
and global trends. It is an essential tool for public education and advocacy to
change national recruitment laws and practices.

The Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers Global Report 2004 will be launched
on 17 November. Simultaneous events are planned in New York, London, Bogota, Amman,
Kampala and Bangkok. [Source: CRIN]
