Sahil (Pakistani NGO) is carrying out research in child sexual abuse, and is currently looking for written submissions from youths (18-35) in all parts of the world interested in contributing to this project. The issue under discussion will relate to article 34 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child: sexual exploitation. The submissions will be published in an upcoming edition of Sahil magazine on "Youth and Child Sexual Abuse", along with recommendations to work against child sexual abuse.
Sahil would be grateful if participants could express their opinions on the following questions:
- What do you think about this issue?
- What do you think are the causes of child sexual abuse? - What do you think should be done to protect children from sexual abuse? - What do you think youth can do to protect upcoming generations from this form of abuse? - Share any experiences of child sexual abuse that you know about (names may be fake) Sahil is the only organisation in Pakistan that works exclusively on the issue of child sexual abuse and exploitation. Its work involves research, awareness raising, legal advocacy, intervention training, crisis intervention, free legal and medical aid for victims, publications and the establishment of a resource centre.[Source: CRIN]
